On one hand, Portim\u00e3o is home to the Portuguese Navy’s only Naval Support Point on the mainland’s south coast. On the other, the Port of Portim\u00e3o, a unique port infrastructure in the region that welcomes dozens of cruise ships<\/strong> every year, bringing around 45,000 passengers to the region. But in addition to this activity linked to the cruise sector, the Port of Portim\u00e3o will now receive the only weekly maritime connection with a ro-pax (ferry) ship, for passengers and cargo, between Funchal (and the Canary Islands) and the mainland. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Portim\u00e3o also offers an important port of refuge at the entrance to the Mediterranean, the Portim\u00e3o Marina<\/strong><\/a>, which has won several international awards and is the venue for the world’s most prestigious nautical events, is equipped with 620 berths and offers all the services needed to support sailors and their boats, including a boatyard. In addition to the Portim\u00e3o Marina, there are also around 300 moorings offered by the Bartolomeu Dias and S\u00e3o Francisco marinas on the River Arade. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
